Good Morning to the BiggerPockets community, my name is Jarvis, 21, residing in the New York City area, I have been lurking around on the forums for about a month or two while reading the book on rental properties and listening to podcasts. I’ve picked up enough courage to make a post to introduce myself to this fantastic and amazing community and really grab ahold of my own future. Of course, I typed all this out on notepad and reread it to myself before I embarrass myself. Coming out of my comfort zone and start seriously networking and connecting with individuals on this platform. Seeking guidance and just chat about real estate to further expand my knowledge and giving me the confidence to pull the trigger.

“Success is when preparation and opportunity meets”

Currently I am leaning towards a buy and hold Small multiple family with the strategy of renting the units. First thing first is my first property I will be looking forward to would fall into house hacking. Saving up my paychecks to reach the down payment percentage for FHA loan on top of reserves and on top of personal emergency funds.

Please do connect with me as I would love to have conversations on real estate.

Hello @Account Closed and welcome to BP!

@Christopher Parsons gave some excellent advice. I'd strongly consider house-hacking a single-family or multi-family property. One with an accessory unit in the basement or attic could significantly boost your cashflow.

Save up all of those paychecks! We're in the midst of a market shift and being prepared with savings/reserves will put you in a good spot when your time comes.

Best,

Abel
