Looking to move to Austin area

RJ Garrison
Posted

Good day to you all. I have been listening to the pod casts for about 4 weeks now(I am currently on #74). My wife and I are considering moving to the Austin area near the end of the year for work because we both work at the Gigafactory in Nevada and would need to wait to have the factory in Austin be operational in order to move and still have income.

I have some family in the Austin area and have said that they love it, so we are excited. We are first time home buyers and do not want to make too costly a mistake and have been attempting to do our due diligence. We have heard good things about Manor, Bastrop and Elgin, but we do not have eye on or boots on the ground to confirm this. I want to become a full-time investor/ real estate agent, so I can quit my job, but I understand that will take time and knowledge first, which I am working on obtaining.

We have enough for our down payment and have about 20k in Tesla stock we can levy for repairs on our first home. My goal is to get us set up on our first BRRRR home and wait a few months to refinance and get the next home. I am still very new to this, but eager to learn, so if you have any tips or tricks for this area, I would be happy to hear them.

Please post questions or tips and thank you very much in advance!
