Newbie from Gulfport, MS trying to get started

I'm kinda of new to REI, I've done a wholesale deal once. I was a single dad at the time and needed to find a more steady income and eventually stopped doing anything with real estate. My girls are now in their teens which has allowed me more time to get back into REI. I'm not sure how to get back into this, especially with not having much success the first time with wholesaling, I just know that I'm ready to give my daughters and I a better life. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
