Where to start on an investment property w/ someone else.

Posted

I am looking to go in on a property with a trusted family member. Where do I start to make sure everything we agree upon is put on paper and how we can both equally benefit from an investment property?

Hi @Alejandro S Rojas, welcome to the BiggerPockets forums!

In my opinion the best way to work through this would be to envision the process of your investment (whether that is a buy-and-hold rental, flip, or something else) mentally and note down every activity that will need to be done in that investment, both now and in the future.  Then divide these activities between you and your partner in a way that seems valuable and equitable to both.
