Tell me about your first property. What was life like afterwards?

I’m new to real estate and in the phase of saving up for my first property. I’m 22 and just graduated college. I have no debt (thank the lord) and I would love nothing more than to develop enough cash flow to leave my big boring 9-5 and start working towards becoming an illustrator.

So tell me about your first property and if/how it got you any closer to becoming financially free. If you already are, how many properties did it take before you were comfortable enough to leave behind a 40 hour work week? I’m sure answers will vary considering people live on different amounts of money, but I’m desperate for some stories of people who were in a similar situation as me.
