Property management career openings

Kevin Barry
Posted

My names Kevin, I live in Los Angeles and I'm trying to start a career in real estate investing through property management. I think starting out as a property manager and learning the ins and outs of this business seems like the most logical step to begin as an investor. The only problem is, I have zero experience in property management. I've been in the fitness and hospitality industries for my entire adult life and I'm currently in the midst of a career shift.

I have management experience in both fields and I believe that the skills I've developed through years of working as personal trainer, fitness manager, bartender and restaurant manager can translate into a field of work. But I can't seem to find any opportunities for an assistant property manager or any other entry level job that doesn't come with "must have 2-4 years of property management experience." I find myself caught in a giant catch-22. Does anyone have suggestions on how to navigate job searching and pinpoint specific opportunities?

Thanks!
