To buy or not to buy land in Lake Tahoe?

My wife and I are planning on buying a plot of land in Lake Tahoe, preferably in Placer County, and hoping to build a tiny home. The tiny home is going to have a foundation and be placed on on Airbnb. Any advice on what we should consider prior to going forward? Hoping to get advice from someone who has done the same.
