Looking for a Mentor

I'm curious how others have gone about finding and choosing a mentor? Would you recommend someone you can meet with in person? Have virtual mentorships gone well for you?

Thanks for the suggestions!

It really depends on what you are trying to do. If you are new and just want to learn, you shouldn't be looking for mentors because too many will convince you that you need to pay for something to get started when you don't. You want to go to local offline and online meetups, join local REI Facebook groups, and lurk in the forums here and use keywords for your area to see who is active. Mentorship when you're new comes in varying forms and should not be paid for. You should only pay for a mentor or coach once you have a system going and want to take it to the next level. There are plenty of us on here in the forums who just answer questions to help and don't have an MLM plan coming at you.
