HUD Situation

I have a hud property under contract. I tried to get the utilities on and the permit office says the water needs to be on before they came out. I spoke to my realtor about turning on the water and she said Hud will not allow us to turn on the water because of leaks. I need the utilities on so I can get a home inspector out to inspect the property. I need some input on what I can do in this situations.

Like J Scott said HUD won't let you turn on the water if they found leaks. They do a pressure test on every property. If the plumbing system won't hold pressure then the water can't be turned on.

I heard a rumor that HUD may start letting the property preservation companies fix small leaks. But in have yet to see this be done and it is completely up to the preservation company if they want to try. Your agent can ask HUD about this but it is a really long shot.
