Starting out House Hack in Northern MA

Hello BiggerPockets! After a year of raising capital and taking in as much knowledge as I can, I have finally garnered the courage to begin the property search. Let it be known, I have no idea what I am doing and learning by trial and error. I have gotten pre-approved for a loan of 500k with 5% down, have contacted an agent and am beginning the search for a 2-3 unit for my first house hack. I am mainly interested in the Haverhill, MA area since I currently live in Plaistow, NH, work in Boston, MA and anything closer to the city will exceed my budget.

If there is anyone with experience in the Haverhill/North Shore area please feel free to discuss with me! As I get closer to making offers on property in this competitive market, I would like to know more about the rental process, how you screen tenants, write up lease agreements, finding contractors, etc. Like I said I'm learning as I go, and I am willing to take in all the help I can get as I move along on this journey.
