Newbie Investor Looking to Flip Houses

Trevor Harris
Posted

Hey Everyone. I am a newbie investor and I discovered biggerpockets when I read "The Book on Rental Property Investing: How to Create Wealth and Passive Income Through Intelligent Buy and Hold Real Estate Investing" by Brandon Turner. I go to settlement on my first buy and hold rental property this week. Super excited about that. My strategy going forward is to flip houses to generate more income and help fund future buy and hold properties. I was hoping to get some advice from more experienced and knowledgeable people on this particular strategy. Thanks everyone.

It's pretty open-ended to just ask about flipping in general as you scale up. What's your financial model? How can you finance a flip after you close on this buy and hold? Where are you, since that will tell us what types of flip metrics are available in your area? Do you know or have the makings of your team, meaning contractor, plumber, electrician, etc? Have you ever done or watched a renovation? Do you know how to evaluate repair costs in your market on your end? These questions will get you moving in the right direction as to what you want to know or ask.
