Seeking advice need guidance

Hey everybody! New here... 24 years young and am interested in real estate. How would someone with 10k begin? I havent owned any properties before. The long term goal would be to own multi family ( 30+rooms in a single apartment complex ) but how does someone get to that point? Start by renting a single family home? Duplex? How did you guys and gals that now own the big multi family homes even begin? Need advice on where to start.. Thank you
