Suggestions to a new investor

Hi, I am a new investor determined to invest in real estate for passive income generation. I know many of you are experts in investing and you would gone through the phase where I am right now. Any suggestions you have for a new investor from your experience will be very valuable to me. 

Also, is Turnkey property a good start for a novice investor without a lot of background? Also, what you recommend are upcoming/booming real-estate markets you recommend me to look into?

I read about places Tampa/Florida/Jacksonville/PalmBay in Florida but looks like prices have already heated up and i missed the boat. Any suggestions?
