thoughts on cottages?

As I'm loking for properties for my first investment, i've encountered myself with rare 3 bed  bath homes.  They are smaller than a  conventional house but they work perfectly.  As i read through their description, some of them say they are seasonal, and some just say "make this cottage your home".   As I mentioned in my first post, i'm looking to generate cash flow,  so are these tiny homes good for that?   what are the pros and cons?
