Beginner: Building, Buying, Flipping

I am extremely interested in investing in real estate, buying and building my own home has always been a goal. I'm saving up to do my first buy but over recent years I've become interested in purchasing multiple pieces of land and property and possibly flipping. The most immediate roadblock I see myself facing is that I want to get into the building/design portion of it and I have no idea where to start. Are there classes, certifications, degrees, etc. that I will need? I truly want to learn how to build a home from the ground up.
