Newbie from Chatt TN. Looking to build network. What's your WHY?

Question

Hi everyone, my wife and I are newbie investors in the Chatt TN area. We are looking to connect with others to build our network so a way that I wanted to reach out is to ask about you.

1. What's your WHY? What keeps you motivated through all the ups and downs?
2. In your opinion, what's the most important skill that makes someone successful in REI?
3. Outside of RE, what's your passion?

@Jake Cowley I just found Bigger Pockets and joined today. I have always wanted to get into real estate, but have no idea how. BP is my first step. I really want to flip residential properties to start and then maybe acquire some rentals. I’m here to learn and build a network.

I had to hop on this! I love that we're not only talking about real estate :)1. The bigger picture is always something I refer to, to keep me motivated. Knowing why I am doing this in the first place and also remembering to enjoy the now because I'm not in real estate only to get to an end goal. Thankfully and by design I enjoy what I do daily but when times are tough, I remember who for and why I chose real estate in the first place.2. I would have to say network! Being able to utilize others skills and knowledge toward your advantage so you can achieve your goals faster and easier. There was this seminar we use to attend and the host always started the meeting out saying "Your Network is your Net Worth". Not only do I agree with that wholeheartedly but it's also so much more fulfilling to do this business with others and have you all flourish together.3. ANIMALS! Lol big time! I want a shelter with acres of property for all types of rescued animals and I would love to travel the world with all the generated income from real estate to help rebuild communities and rescue animals! Looking forward to hearing everyone else's :)

I bet that will be a wonderful place to start your investment journey with your wife.To answer your questions personally-1. Taking something old and bringing to back to life is rewarding in itself, but taking a house and making it a home for others is even better!2. Decisiveness. You wait- you lose. It's just the name of the game!3. Coaching!! I coach young athletes in my spare time, and giving these girls athletic as well as life skills brings me to a whole other level of joy! Hi @Allan Smith! Thanks so much for responding. I love your WHY and your passion. My wife and I love Chattanooga TN area and we are looking to connect with others who also invest in here. Do you mind if I reach out to talk more about your REI strategy and vision?Our strategy is to build our network so we can find deals through wholesale, investors, agents, or other contacts in small multifamily (2-4) and residential properties. I'm sure like most people we like the BRRRR strategy but also looking for turnkey as well to buy and hold property. Chattanooga area is great but we aren't opposed to looking for properties within the Huntsville, Nashville, Clarksville, Fayetteville/Raleigh areas. As for our goal/passion:We want to create passive income and financial freedom so we can spend more time with our daughters. But we are truly passionate about helping/serving others with a focus on assisting single mothers and military veterans going through hard times by providing affordable housing. To do those things, we need to grow our portfolio.Love to connect more if you are interested but thanks again for taking the time to respond!

I'm pretty well hooked on passive income and financial freedom so I love buying rentals. Have a few in chatt. But even that gets meaningless once I get there so I aim to give more and more of my time and money as the business makes more to gospel centered missions that "teach people to fish".
