Looking to move to Austin/San Ant in 1-2 years. Should I buy now?

I am currently 26 with a decent paying job. I have about 50k cash and a 780 credit score. I am ready to get started in my REI journey, and I know everyone says you just have to get started. Problem is I want to move to Austin/San Antonio in 1-2 years with my job. I'm currently in Chicago area and haven't started my first property yet due to this. I'm really getting anxious seeing all the growth and opportunities down there and just how long it is taking before I finally start.

My main question is, should I look to start now out of state for my first property? Or should I wait until I am moved down there? Your thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated. (Mainly looking for a multi family for first property)

Thanks.
