Tax lien/Tax deed investing

Hello everyone, I was trying to put in some addresses and it keeps saying no records found. I was at the courthouse today and over heard someone saying something about not being able to pay because of the auction. Does everything stop when the auctions are going on? I’ve been told to register with Bessemer but they didn’t give any other information. Anyone can tell me how I can go about with registering so I can go to the auction if it’s not to late. Thanks and I’m in Bham, Al.
