Trying to make smart decisions
I'm trying to get into real estate investing my goal was to use the House Hacking technique and purchase a 3 family property live in one unit and rent out the other 2 and live rent free and then purchase a second property. I was also planning on using my VA loan so I wouldn't have to put any money down and save my cash for my second property. My issue now is I'm having a hard time finding a move in ready property and the area I live has gone from a ok area to terrible and I need to move ASAP so I have been considering buy a single family home so that I can move. Should I stay the course of trying to find a 3 family property or purchase a single family or would that mess up buying a rental property
