Possible roach infestation, what now
Hi guys,
So I am about to close on this house, the seller has agree to do most of the serious repair found by the inspector.
Except, I have been told by my PM that there are ALOT of dead cockroaches in the house. The PM think it is a roach infestation which is most likely the case since the house has been vacant for couple of month.
I was thinking worst case scenario, I would need to spend at least two month for pest treatment, and change all the carpet in the house to laminate. Including the two month rent that I cannot collect, I estimate the cost would about 6-8k after I close on the house.
I would assume the seller would be responsible if there is a roach infestation, but since I did not include that on the repair request after inspection, are they still liable ?
So my question, should I continue with the purchase ? I have already put around 3k toward the purchase of house already.
Thanks for any advice
