Spend 20,000 dollars on education

So I have been learning a lot about investing in real estate for about 6 months. My friend wants me to invest 20,000 dollars in this education for real estate investing. Should I do it? Or should I put it to a down pool payment on a house ?

All of the information these "gurus" teach is readily available here on BP and other sources online for FREE.
