Hello Biggerpockets community, my name is Stefon, I am an enthusiastic young man ready to start a career becoming a real estate agent/ investor. I am looking to work in the upper New jersey/ New York Rockland county area. The reason I'm here today is because I'm looking for experienced members to provide their tips or experience when entering the market. Are there any certain steps or measures I should follow before getting into the field? What are some things I should lookout for before entering? How do I get started in real estate investing with little money?

thank you.

Get your RE license and pay attention to the stuff in the course that most agents think they don't need. Much of the classes are more applicable for future investments than they are for being an agent. Go to local REI events and meet people around your age who are trying to do the same thing. Don't expect mentors to help until you have value you can add to them. Just network and learn and read. You can't analyze deals or numbers on a computer, you have to see them in real life to understand what 100k looks like and so on in your area.
