School Loan or Start Investing

My wife is graduating with her MSW in a few weeks and we will have about $50K of student loans. Would it be more wise to tackle the student loans and then start investing or save up a little more and start investing in a multi-family unit and start paying off the student loans?

I would look to see what interest rate and the terms are of the loan. It might make sense paying off the loan depending on the rate and terms. I would also be very cautious about buying or investing right now in real estate. There's a market shift happening / reset.
