Firing a buyers agent

Hi y’all, I have a question about firing/cutting ties with a Buyers agent.

I’ve been working with this agent for awhile, and in this time every house that I’ve seen that meets my needs in the area and price that I want I have found myself, wether on Redfin, just driving around and seeing for sale signs or craigslist, etc.

every house the agent has sent me is turn key, thirty minutes outside of the area I am looking at and much more than I’ve expressed my budget to be.

My problem is that I was naive and signed an exclusive agreement with them that has a clause stating that if I buy a house within six months of termination of the contract that they showed to us or we inquired of them about it that they are still entitled to the commission.

My question is how likely are they or their brokerage to exercise that clause?

Beyond the initial meeting with them going over what I’m looking for they haven’t put extensive time or effort into helping us, haven’t taken us to showings, and even when I do ask about a house they say they thought the scope of work was more than I could handle and don’t give more information than what’s on Redfin.

Sorry I’m rambling now, I’ll stop....
