Advice on investing as a teen

Chase Guelette
Posted

I am a 15 year old looking to start investing in real estate and hoping to buy my first rental before 16. My biggest problems are that my parents are opposed to me buying a house at such a young age, and I don't have the financing for a down payment. Any advice?

Find the right partner, go to meetups and interact, focus on the value you bring and your knowledge. When I met my business partner, he was 19. I didn't question is age because his knowledge and the value he brought far surpassed it.

Connect with a RE attorney in your area, ask how you can structure a deal, at your age, to protect your interest in an investment with a partner. Agreements are everything, if done properly, it will scared people away who have bad intentions and protect you in case a partner decides to do something bad in the future. You can even structure deals that the partnership expires after X time.
