Real Estate License in NJ

Hello, I am a beginner trying to get into the world of real estate investing! I wanted to lay down a knowledge foundation and at the same time use some of the advantages that come with the real estate license while also working a 9-5 IT job. Can anyone elaborate on the pros and cons of getting the license or their experiences with it, I understand it is not needed to invest but it is something that cannot hurt you.
