Advice for a beginner

Hello, I am seeking advice for someone who has no field experience as to what would be the first thing I should start out with when looking for my first property. Through personal experiences starting out, what I should avoid, things I should look for etc. I'm looking to possibly find a property to flip and raise capital for future buy and hold properties. Any advice helps, thanks.
