Foreclosed Properties for Newbies

Hi everyone! My name is Kelly and I am new to Real Estate Investing and the BP community (shout out to my fellow Metro Detroiters :-) ). I've been doing a lot of research and I have a question regarding foreclosures. I know you can find some pretty great deals, but based on my research it sounds like it might not be the best for a newbie investor. I was wondering if someone could share some pros/cons of buying one when you're first starting out. Thanks in advance!
