Can I do my own renovation work on a Brrrr?

I have been in construction for 30 years and am capable of renovating my own investments if possible. Does the bank want proof of a Licensed contractor doing the renovations at the refinance or resale?  This would be a big factor in my decision to partake in flip or brrrr.
