CPA Costs & Questions
I am working with a small group and we are preparing for our first flip. We have a few basic questions and, at the advice of many threads here, are thinking of s brief conversation with a CPA before getting started. I'm just curious what people typically pay for a CPA and how those engagements work? Is it standard to meet in-person or do many people just speak with them remotely (which I imagine opens the pool of possible advisors a bit)
One of the questions is around the fact that one person in our group is a contractor. He will be handling most of the rehab and we are trying to determine the best way to compensate him for this, and the potential tax implications of paying him directly for his services versus awarding him more equity in the house. If anyone has initial thoughts or experience with this please let me know as well.
Thanks
