House Hacking - South Florida
I’m just starting out and have been looking for my first property, preferably a small multi family property in southeast Florida. My plan is to house hack. I found a property that was a duplex, one unit fully renovated the other unit needed some minor cosmetic work (new cabinets, flooring, paint etc.). I also saw there was a detached garage that looked like it could be converted to a studio. I figured that would be a creative way to bring in extra income. The only issue is the backyard backs up to train tracks. Is that a big deal in South Florida? Has anyone had trouble renting their properties because of this?It seems like there’s plenty of homes near the train tracks in South Florida because the tracks are so close to the beach.
P.S. would love to network with some agents/investors in South Florida, especially those who house hack or have in the past.
