Hello BP,

I have a question hopefully it’s not too ridiculous.. should I get a lawyer and an accountant prior to even getting my first deal or should I wait? I understanding building a team is important, I’m just concerned since I don’t have a deal or property YET.. that they won’t take me serious.

Hey Julio,

Great question!

Your attorney and accountant won't come into the picture until a bit further down the road.

I typically recommend finding a lender and a Realtor in the beginning. They will help you with finding and financing your deal. Once you have a deal in place (i.e. accepted offer), you'll then need an attorney. A good lender and/or Realtor should have multiple recommendations for you to choose from.

Once you get closer to the closing table, the next step will be to contact your accountant. Again, this is a professional that can be recommended to you by the rest of you team - lender, Realtor or Attorney.

I wouldn't go too crazy assembling your entire 'team' at this point. With those first two professionals, you should have what you need to take the initial steps in your journey.

Best of luck to you moving forward!

Abel
