Good afternoon everyone and happy new year! First BP post! I’ve played around with the idea for getting into real estate investing for a few months now. I’ve read the beginners guide on BP and want to start doing more. I’m 25 live in Illinois (near Chicago) and don’t have too much money upfront to use.

I currently work in Tech sales and work from home 2 days a week which I will now dedicate to real estate plus weekends. Ideally I think that Buy and Holding single homes and small MFH/small apts would help me achieve my goal of financial freedom and retiring by age 50. Even though the beginners guide was very helpful I still want to what should be my first steps. My biggest goal would to be a o own my first property by this time next year.

If you were a beginner in real estate investing again, what would your first 90 days look like?

@Dan Taylor Decide what your goals, long and short, are in your first 90 days. Value add vs turn key require a different degree of involvement. Decide whether you are going to self manage or hire that out.

1. Create your entity.

2. Interview those folks that you are going to have on your team.

3. Go to networking events and rub elbows with other like minded folks and look for off market deals.

4. Look for properties that fit your objectives/criteria yourself.
