Tips & advice for newbies

Dante Campbell
Posted

Hello Everybody,

My names Dante I’m 21 with no kids I’m new to the bigger pockets Website/App but I’ve been watching videos on YouTube for a couple months I’m in the Pittsburgh area.. I’m really in search of as much knowledge as possible before I take the leap of faith. I have a couple questions such as...

What are some things you wish you knew before you started?

Videos/Books/Podcasts?

How to know if that first steps right?

What first step would be right?

Really any information helps I appreciate your time thank you!

Figure out which strategy you want to do and concentrate your education and investigations on that strategy. When I first started, I had shiny object syndrome where every strategy looked good and I wanted to try them all. Once I focused on 1, I became successful.

Another idea is to go work for someone reputable in the business and strategy you intend to do, get real life experience without risking funds, then go do it yourself. Congrats on being young and ambitious!

Also, let me tell you a truth that most seem to miss. You WILL have very crappy days where you feel like you want to quit and go hide in a ditch, just know you will also have days where you feel like your the king of the mountain. It is an emotional roller coaster when you start so stay driven and determined, with that mindset, you can succeed.
