If you’re investing in single family rentals, then most any of these markets can be good. Of course, you can read all sorts of news these days about how great both Dallas and Charlotte are for job growth, expansion, etc...which are key factors you want in a rental market.

But beyond the metro market, you really need to get into the sub-market details.

That is, some parts of DFW can be great for cash flowing single-family rentals, while others not so much. Real estate investing is a local market business. Meaning, you have to go deeper then just “Dallas” or “Charlotte”, and research and find the sub-market communities and neighborhoods within these cities that make for great rental investments.
