Accounting or Finance Major for a Future Real Estate Investor
Hi everyone, I am a freshman college student currently at a community college, and planning to transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno for either a degree in finance or accounting. I am currently knocking out general education requirements for free to save money, but by the fall of next year (preferably in time for classes this spring, but the very basics for finance and accounting are similar so I can certainly wait), I must declare a major if I am to transfer on a fast track to graduate for my bachelor's degree. I want to know whether I would be better off with a finance or accounting major. I would imagine there are advantages and disadvantages to both paths and hope I could receive some guidance on this. I feel my strengths are talking with people and quickly establishing positive connections, as well as a strong drive to be the best that I can be in what I do. I rarely struggle with math and have been successful in calculus and statistics thus far; that should not be an issue to factor into my degree path. Thank you all for your help and information on this matter, it is greatly appreciated.
