Looking for first purchase, a multi-family, should I get a realtor?

Hello all. I have a little money saved up and I think the best place I can invest it is as a down payment for a 2-4 unit property that I would live in and also rent out.

I've never bought real estate before, would you recommend signing with a buyer's agent to help me find and buy the right property, or do investors never do that to try and get a better deal on the property?
