Recently Unemployed: Looking for a way in to RE

I have recently been unemployed for going on 3 months now. My husband and I have spent the past year researching and learning the ins and outs of REI via BP and the myriad of books on the subject. My husband received his RE license in July of this year, and the plan was for me to take the class and the exam thereafter. However, without our second income, with a 2.5 year old and one on the way we are financially strapped.

As an Accountant and Educator, I didn’t think that I would still be looking for a position nearly 3 months later with no end in sight, but yet here I am.. So my question is: is there anything that I can do within Real Estate to aid my husband and/or others to gain some steady income for our family? At this point I am open to any and all suggestions as this is a very uncomfortable situation for us.  I have reliable care for our child, so I can be available remotely at any time during the day for anyone residing in differing timezones (I’m in Dallas, TX). Oddly enough, during our research days, this was not a topic that was discussed so I am unsure of all that I can do without a license.

Thank you for your time! I will greatly appreciate any suggestion.
