Hampton Roads Investing/Wholesaling

Hello BP!!

I am a recently separated service member. I am like many people in the area that were stationed at one of the various military installations and ended up setting roots.
With all the free time allowed by no longer serving in the military. My interest have reverted back to investing in real estate and exploring different methods to financial success/freedom by leveraging the wealth that real estate can create.
My question to the BP forum is has anyone been able to create a business or career in the last couple years in the real estate industry in Hampton Roads; either through real estate retail (agent), fix and flip, wholesale, flip and hold, commercial or any other methods?
