Exceptions to FHA 1 year occupancy rule
I am currently a travel occupational therapist. If I purchase a home using the FHA loan and have to relocate in say 6 months for work (could be only 1-2 hours away) would I be penalized for renting out the property?

I believe there are exceptions for those kinds of situations, @Elise Explores. That's a good question to ask your lender up front. As long as you're acting in good faith (i.e. not planning to try and circumvent the rules), you should be find.
