Rehab estimate for rental

I am looking to get into the RE world and while doing my homework, a few questions came to mind... Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Where do you typically look for, to get a rehab/reno contractor to get an estimate before submitting an offer?

How do you typically go about it? Take a ton of pictures when visiting the property and then sit down with the contractor? Or do you do the inspection first and then talk to the contractor? What would be the best strategy?

Any other tips on this?

Thanks!
