Where Should I Begin?

Hi, I am a 17 year old high-school student, turning 18 in a few months and I have just discovered the real estate niche. I have become particularly interested in real estate investing / flipping houses. I have a good idea of the BIG PICTURE when it comes to profiting, but I have no idea where to start. What should I learn, what should I look into, should I start as a real estate agent or buy a property when I’m ready (and 18+) and rehab it for a profit? Should I use private lenders or banks? All of these are questions I have had, but have no mentor, nor do I know anyone who has any knowledge in real estate. I have been doing lots of research online, but the internet is wishy washy and I’m not sure what the best option would be. I’m not sure if I should go to college to learn about this type of thing because of taxes and stuff when selling and buying properties, or if I should just jump into it and not think too hard about it, with of course, the right mindset and knowledge of the basics of it all.

If you have any feedback or advice as a “mentor”, please let me know so I can get a general idea of where I should begin when the time is right!
