How to start real estate investment in Singapore

I’m 19 and I just started learning about real estate through reading books like rich dad poor dad and the biggerpockets how to start investing book. I know I have a long way to go and to learn but I don’t know how to start taking action in an expensive market in Singapore. The rental yields are low which could possible lead to a negative cash-flow. I was also considering maybe overseas real estate investment but heard of the risks of being far from the properties.
