Looking for some guidance
Hey everyone,
I found this site through google while trying to find some real estate investing books. I'm new here and I hope I can learn from all of the bright minds in this forum. I'm 25 years old, in debt and want to start investing in properties.
I made a goal to myself that I would pay off all my debt within the next year from there I want to start investing in properties. However, I do not know where to start. BUT I do have an end goal, that end goal is to generate enough positive flow of income every month to live comfortably for the rest of my life. This is where you guys come in, how, where do I start?
I just ordered the book "The Millionaire Real Estate Investor" from amazon and looking forward to reading it. But I want to hear from you guys who are successful. SO please chime in, I am looking forward to picking your brains/

Dexter, while you are paying off your debt, you might find the library to be an amazing resource. It's free or nearly free, and you'd be surprised at the up-to-date books they have. Go in, find the subject you want, and skim through every book they have in that section, how to alleviate debt or real estate investing or retirement planning (even at your age), weed out the dated ones (like the leverage to the hilt, everybody is waiting to lend you money ones), and then actually check out the books that intrigue you. Find the best info in each one and formulate a path that works for you. I tend to write down the ideas or instructions I find important all in one place, helps me remember it, and I just reference my notebook when I need a refresher. It will help you save money not buying books, give you much more info and different opinions from different authors (although many just repeat the same ideas, which, in itself, is a lesson), and better than spending your own money on one or two books and being influenced greatly by just those. You can even use their online catalog to reserve the newer books you want, have them waiting for pickup.
