Newbies Looking to Start a Real Estate Company Together

I've spent about the last 6-8 months learning as much as I can through the BiggerPockets site and feel ready to put some of my knowledge into action towards my first rental property. During that time I've also introduced 2 friends to BP and we are flirting with the idea of starting a real estate investment company together. 

Any advice on starting and partnering in a real estate company? Are there things we should make sure we are considering? Is this even a good idea?
