New investor relocating to Austin strategy?

I work as a construction manager, and have the opportunity to relocate to Austin. I currently own property in North Texas that has no debt attached to it. I do not have a current appraisal but i estimate its value conservatively at around $300-350k. It is improved rural acreage with a small cabin on it, that a family currently resides in. I would like to hold on to the land rather than sell it right now if possible, but need to purchase a home in the Austin area for my family. My new job will provide me with much more time to invest in real estate, and was hoping that others could share their experience and strategy of how they might best leverage this situation to their advantage. I would like my first purchase to be a live-in house flip that I may stay in for a while, before investing in additional short term flips or other investment types. Any thouoghts?

Thank You

Thad
