New Investor interested in learning the business hands on
I am a brand new investor trying to figure out my next step. I am currently a salaried employee but am honestly considering a career change.
I am serious about starting in real estate and I would love the opportunity to learn hands on through a job assisting professionals in their already established business or whatever service I can provide.
I am in the Minneapolis metro area and don’t have any formal education that would qualify me for work in any of the trades or general contracting.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what field would be a good place to start where I could get good exposure to the business with little formal qualifications?

Hello Jake,
To be a real estate agent, you simply have to complete the course hours required by the state. I'm not sure about MN but in NY I had to take a 75-hour course, pass a course exam then pass a state exam and that was it!
Since becoming a Real estate agent 3 years ago, I've been able to quit my full-time job and learn a ton about the business. Not to mention, I've made some quality contacts around the industry.
You should also look into becoming an appraiser.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
Best of luck to you moving forward!
Abel
