Getting started as a beginner in Chicago?

What’s up BP,

I am just getting started in real estate investing here in Chicago market. I am currently employed as an assistant superintendent here in Chicago for a prestigious construction general contractor here. I am looking to get started here primarily wholesaling first and possibly some fix and flips with the right situation. I have some money if was needed for a JV to get my feet wet but would prefer to learn how to not use my own money. Primarily I am needing some help getting started. I know it's often said take action immediately, however I feel as though a mentor or someone to shadow that has been within this industry for a bit to answer some of my questions and allow me to shadow them would provide me the most benefit. What do you guys suggest in getting started? Are there anyone willing to connect and have a quick Q&A or that's willing to let me shadow for a day on the weekend by chance?
