Galveston Tx, First Time Investor

I am interested in investing in a str property in Galveston. This will be my first time and therefore I feel very blind in beginning this process! I’ve been reading several forums trying to pick up any advice and tips, and I’ve seen you put out very knowledgeable and informed advice.

My questions are many. Are there any other sources of information you’d recommend for first time property investors?

I would be starting on a very small scale, probably a condo around $150,000. I would have a total of $40,000 to invest. Hoping to put down the standard 20% and have plenty left to furnish and cover any other expenses to get started. Is it even feasible to find a good place to invest with this kind of money?

When is a good time to begin looking and to buy before the busy summer season begins? The earliest I would be ready is March, is that to late?
