Buying a house that had a fire in it.

I am looking at purchasing a house that had a fire in it.  I happen to be one of the firefighters that helped extinguish it and know that the structure can be repaired relatively easy.  I have not gone to the city yet to see what they have to say about getting occupancy.  I have remodeling experience but am a newbie in real estate.  Does anyone have experience that they would be willing to share about this?  Thank you!
